La Costa Brava

La Costa Brava

It is the denomination that receives the Girona coast from Blanes to Portbou and that offers us fantastic natural spaces, formed by calm coves with peaceful waters that attract visitors from around the world. The rugged profile of the rocks, the cliffs and the pine groves make the Costa Brava a destination with a unique personality. Among the main tourist destinations are the towns of Roses, L'Escala, L'Estartit, Calonge, Blanes, Lloret de Mar, Playa de Aro, Sant Feliu de Guíxols or Palamós, as well as the fishing villages of Cadaqués, Port de la Selva or Palafrugell.

The Costa Brava is a sum of sensations that will surprise you from Blanes to Portbou. Nature has a main role with the Natural Park of Cap de Creus, the Natural Park of the Aiguamolls of the Empordà and the Natural Park of Montgrí, Illes Medes and Baix Ter. Three different scenarios, three places of great natural value.

Our coastline will also captivate you with the beauty of its beaches - of great tourist quality - and coves, some of them authentic paradises hidden among cliffs. Without forgetting the Mediterranean character of villas like Cadaqués or Calella de Palafrugell. You should also take note of such unique places as the Bay of Roses, the Banyoles Lake, the Botanical Gardens of Santa Clotilde, Pinya de Rosa, Marimurtra and Cap Roig.

The Costa Brava also keeps a large set of cultural proposals: the great imprint of Salvador Dalí in the Empordà; The monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes or the castle of Peratallada; Medieval villages like Tossa de Mar, Púbol or Pals; The ruins of Empúries, exceptional witnesses of Greek and Roman civilizations; The ceramics tradition of La Bisbal, and the old town of Girona, with a historic jewel of the first order in the form of a Jewish quarter.
